II. RATIONALE / PROBLEM STATEMENT
Ayala Foundation, Inc. is the social development arm of the Ayala Group of Companies. We help improve lives through our key program areas including Education. A major change this school year is the shift from face to face learning in school to distance learning at home. Depending on the area in the country, this could mean a combination of learning through activities in modules and through online classes. To be able to keep up with these changes and to make the most of their education this school year, students would need access to gadgets as well as to a stable internet connection to continue to be part of a learning community. However, not all families are able to provide gadgets and connectivity for their children’s education as some parents also lost their job during this difficult time. This widens the digital divide that we have in our country.
While we do give value to access to technology, our commitment to education goes deeper than this. For example, as we work closely with the schools in our partner communities, we support the various Learning Delivery Modes under DepEd's Learning Continuity Plan (LCP.) This means that apart from online learning, we also provide assistance to schools with the development of the self-learning modules required by DepEd. These refer to the printed materials that are delivered by teachers to the children's homes. We do our share in providing schools with printing equipment and supplies of bond papers, ink, etc. that are greatly needed for teachers to produce the self-learning modules for their students.
III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Piopio Inc. conducted an E-Learning Fundraiser to raise funds in support of Ayala Foundation’s goal of helping students and teachers cope with the demands of education this school year amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic. Donations will go towards providing students and schools in the Ayala Foundation network with necessary equipment and tools needed for distance learning modalities this SY20-21. To ensure the maximization of the donated equipment and tools, informational sessions and workshops for parents, teachers, and students will be held throughout the school year through the Ayala Foundation Education Programs. We believe that training support is just as important and crucial as the gadgets and other materials which will be donated to our beneficiaries.
